The ProFire 2626 from M-Audio is a
FireWire based computer audio interface that provides eight microphone preamps
along with extensive digital conversion. Building on a legacy of award-winning
FireWire audio interfaces, the unit delivers twenty-six simultaneous inputs and
outputs each, complete with an onboard DSP mixer sourced from up to fifty-two
audio streams. The unit will also function as a standalone preamp and digital
converter.
A comprehensive set of connections is provide, including M-Audio's Octane preamp
technology on all of the eight analog inputs, along with ADAT, S/PDIF, Wordclock
and MIDI I/O. JetPLL jitter elimination technology ensures pristine audio
quality and reliable synchronization all the way up to high-definition
24-bit/192kHz resolution, with extremely low latency. Also included are dual
headphone outputs and two front-panel 1/4" instrument inputs.
