The REV PRO FireWire-400
Drive with 1 REV Disk from Canopus/Grass Valley is an external
FireWire-400 drive that reads Iomega REV disks. REV PRO drives are
designed specifically for use with professional video. The disks have a
minimum 110 Mb/sec throughput, which allows you to use them to directly
record HD video. The media is approved for use in harsh environmental
conditions and can survive a 4-foot drop, making it an ideal solution
for location shooting.
This REV drive connects to your personal computer via the standard
FireWire-400 interface. This allows you to access recorded video off REV
disks in your desktop or notebook editing workstation. Broadcast and
professional videographers will love the flexibility that recording to
REV media gives them.
Infinity System
REV PRO is designed to work with the Grass Valley Infinity camera
system. The camera has an integrated REV PRO slot, allowing you to
directly record onto REV disks when using it. Once you've connected this
drive to your computer, you'll be able to take footage shot on the REV
PRO disk and instantly start editing.
External FireWire-400 Drive
This external FireWire-400 REV PRO drive allows you to access data from
REV PRO disks in your desktop or notebook editing environment. This
drive is an excellent option for anyone who shoots directly on REV PRO
disks. Computers recognize REV PRO disks as removable hard drive media,
allowing you to use it as a storage option for video you've shot with
any system, making it a truly flexible solution.
Designed for Video
The REV PRO solution is designed for use with professional and broadcast
video. Directly recording to REV disks is a cost-effective solution that
can help improve workflow in your ENG or production environment.
Best of Both Worlds
REV disks offer the convenient form factor of a videotape combined with
the nonlinear access benefits of a hard disk. When used with the popular
Grass Valley Infinity system you can record directly to a REV disk. To
edit footage simply remove the disk and take it over to your workstation
with a REV drive. There is no need to spend hours logging and capturing
footage; you'll quickly realize the benefits of this more efficient
workflow.
HD Capability
REV drives sustain a minimum of 110 Mb/sec transfer rate. This is enough
bandwidth to work with 100 Mb/sec HD video and have 10 Mb/sec left over
for timecode, audio and metadata tracks. You can also record dual
streams of up to 55 Mb/sec, making this a versatile solution for your
video needs.
35 GB Capacity
Each removable REV disk can hold up to 35 GB of data. This is enough for
storage for more than 2 hours of DV-HDV video, allowing you to record
for long periods of time without swapping out disks.
Enhanced Security
REV PRO media supports both master and user-level password security to
access data. This allows you to password protect your disks so that only
authorized users can access the data stored on them.
