REV PRO drives offer a
cost-effective solution for day-to-day ENG and production environments.
They are ideal for rigorous day-to-day field use, as well as being well
suited for studios and edit suites. REV PRO drives are available in both
internal and external configurations. The internal drives, with either
ATAPI or SATA interfaces, offer additional support for Linux—perfect for
network and work-station installations. External portable drives are
available in either USB 2.0 or FireWire (IEEE 1394) compatible with PCs
and Macs
Enhanced Performance
For the video
professional, REV PRO media offers many advantages over standard REV
media.It provides enhanced bandwidth capacity. With a record/playback
capability of up to 110 Mb/s, it has adequate throughput for HD video
(up to 100 Mb/s) and the overhead support for audio,timecode, and
metadata tracks (10 Mb/s). The bandwidth is also sufficient for dual
streams up to 55 Mb/s each. In addition, REV PRO media offers improved
simultaneous record/playback capabilities and faster rendering speeds
for nonlinear editing systems.
REV PRO products offers many physical enhancements that make them ideal
for day-to-day production use. The media can be used in harsher
environments with temperatures from –10ºC to 60ºC (14ºF to 140ºF), and
at altitudes up to 4,500 meters (14,700 feet). The drive and removable
media are robust and extremely durable. The disk can survive repeated
1.2-meter (4-foot) drops. The long-term archival rating of the media is
specified at more than 30 years, and it can perform over one million
record/erase cycles without failure.REV PRO disks also provide enhanced
security features. Administrators can choose a master password and set
up specific user passwords as needed on each disk. Data can also be
securely erased ("shred" utility) and the disk reformatted when
required.
