arrow Overview

The Blackmagic Workgroup Videohub is an SDI Routing Switcher supporting both Standard Definition and High Definition SDI signals. This device offers 12 inputs and 12 outputs with monitoring for each SDI output. Switching is accomplished from a remote computer and the main unit comes in a very user friendly design. This router offers a good control situation for non-linear editors working with multiple formats and machines.

Key Features

Dual Rate

Modern equipment such as Videohub allows for dual rate switching between standard definition 270 Mbps or high definition 1.485 gbps video rates, so newer HDTV equipment can be integrated into existing systems.

Monitoring

Because most editors love to have "direct from the router" monitoring, Workgroup Videohub has 12 independent outputs totally dedicated for monitoring. Independent monitoring outputs are great when you have more than one person working on a job and you need to quickly look at decks and other editing system in your facility.

IP Control

Video routing switchers are popular in high end post production because they allow non technical people to connect to each other and share broadcast decks, without the complexity of manual cable patching. Remote switching via your IP network means you don't even need to walk to a central patch panel - great when there are many people are working on the same client job.

Deck Control Routing

With 12 independent Sony compatible RS-422 serial control ports included, each editing system can control any deck in your facility. Each deck control connection is independently reversible via software control, so it's easy to connect edit stations or decks to any of the 12 deck control ports.

Network Shared Control

Install Videohub anywhere in your facility, because all computers on your network can change connections, or even labels. And, anyone can lock a destination remotely, which is essential when doing important recordings that you don't want interrupted.

Consumer Format Dubbing

Adding consumer grade decks for client dubbing is easy, and you can use any spare output such as one of the SDI monitoring outputs. You can add digital to analog conversion to connect video and audio to VHS and DVD recorders.
