of Avid Mojo

Real-time video
and effects output. Avid Xpress Pro offers real-time previews of multiple
streams of DV25 video, one stream of uncompressed video or graphics, as well
as over 115 effects. Adding Avid Mojo means that all of that can be
simultaneously output in full quality to both client monitor and digital or
analog tape. Avid Mojo also provides real-time pulldown reinsertion for 24P
footage, making it an essential component for anyone working with
progressive media, whether DV or offline film and HD.

Real-time D/A and
A/D transcoding. Avid Mojo provides analog to digital conversions happen in
real time, while maintaining perfect synch with desktop displays. Avid
Mojo's built-in hardware DV codec handles time-consuming compression and
decompression of DV footage itself, freeing the host computer's CPU to
handle other tasks.

Uncompressed
graphics and analog video support. Avid Mojo adds uncompressed graphics or
video in Avid Xpress Pro DV25 projects in real time. This allows imported
uncompressed titles or animations to be included with DV footage without
requiring those elements to be re-rendered at lower quality before output.
An important feature for DV output, it's even more important for output to
DVD, where the highest-quality graphic and animation is critical for both
the highest quality conversion to MPEG. Avid Mojo also includes connections
for composite and S-video. Adding an optional component video cable allows
the capture and output of a single stream of uncompressed Y, Pr, Pb video,
which includes such popular formats as BetaSP.

Hardware scaling
of draft resolutions. Draft previews trade off quality for performance. In
some cases, the desired levels of performance require video quality to drop
below levels of quality that may be required for client approvals or
final-stage editing. Avid Mojo's hardware- accelerated scaling of draft
resolution footage means that you can have all the advantages of both high
quality images for detailed work and client approval while enjoying the
higher levels of performance and storage efficiencies provide by
draft-resolution video.

Bi-directional
signal flow. Other NLE hardware add-ons provide either signal in or signal
out, but Avid Mojo works in both directions, all the time. One common
scenario that this allows is the ability to add voice-over narration through
Avid Mojo, while Avid Mojo is also playing out video to a broadcast monitor.
Avid Mojo simply provides for more options for working the way that you want
to work.
